Dongcheng District Opened A New Mode of “Internet Plus Tracing Lost Families”

On April 10, 2019, the Tiantan Police Station escorted a female aged about 60 to the Dongcheng District Rescue Management and Consulting Station. The elder had a strong accent and lost her false teeth during the wandering. The staff patiently communicated with her to figure out how she got lost and help her.

In order to collect the household registration information of the elder timely and accurately, the rescue station staff and police officers there searched for any possible individuals by her physical characteristics on the public security network and the tracing website. They finally targeted the elder's identity information among more than 130 recommended individuals. She was from Tangshan, Hebei Province and suffered from mild dementia. Three months ago, she got lost with family members on a trip to Beijing to trace their lost family members. The family had been looking for her since then. After contacting her family, they came from Tangshan to take her home.

Since 2018, the Dongcheng District Rescue Management and Consultation Station has helped homeless people find relatives through household registration verification and contact with their household registration authorities or family members. For those whose names and family addresses they failed to reach, the staff cooperated with media to offer help. Adopting a new model of "internet plus tracing lost families", they posted Notice on Tracing Lost Families within 24 hours on the national rescue system, Today's Headlines, Geese Relatives-seeking Website, newspapers, etc. By doing so and cooperating with the public security organs, they successfully helped six vagrants and beggars find family members and returned home.
